The Foundation for Fortitude invites all interested young college women enrolled in the 2017 Fall Semester at Edward Waters College for their freshmen year to our annual Chat ‘N Chew on August 27, 1-3:00 PM at the EWC Theater Room.
This casual and informative event will allow you to discover the unique opportunities that await you in our program. We offer scholarships to those that successfully attend our educational modules and take advantage of our mentoring and networking opportunities. Last year the young women of Foundation for Fortitude received $1500 each in scholarship support.
The Foundation for Fortitude is a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity founded by an Edward Waters College graduate, Sherry H. Blue. She is a Jacksonville entrepreneur and philanthropist with a vision to form a charitable organization to provide the special needs of support required by young college women to assist them in staying the course to complete their first year of college. With unique challenges ahead for new college freshmen, the charity is able to provide mentoring, networking, and educational opportunities that will empower the young women in the program not only while participating, but throughout their college years and beyond.
The educational programs available through Foundation for Fortitude are professionally designed to offer special skill sets to place young college women on a path of success. They will learn about how to build professional networks, take advantage of career opportunities, receive interview coaching, professional etiquette coaching, and are empowered by receiving specialized life skills, leadership skills, financial literacy education, able to participate in community service opportunities and career shadowing. The young women of Foundation for Fortitude are offered advantages that aren’t available elsewhere in a program that also includes financial scholarship support.
Come meet our Founder, our Board of Directors, and other supporters of this special organization and see how you can set yourself up for success with other determined and like-minded young college freshmen women. You’ll find the meeting casual, enjoyable, and informative, and you will leave excited and filled with enthusiasm for a bigger year ahead than you even expected. Perhaps the one year that will most impact and shape your future.
Join us for food and conversation at our Chat ‘N Chew, August 27, 1-3PM, at the EWC Theater Room. We look forward to meeting you! You can find more information at FoundationForFortitude.org and any questions can be directed to hello@FoundationForFortitude.org.
